App in the Air is our go to application. It will give you all the information you need about your flight in real time, keep track of all your flights (past or to come), create your travel profile, airport map, etc. And for those who, like us, often wonder whether our cabin luggage will fit: App in the Air also proposes to check for you, through an augmented reality widget, the size of your baggage. Bye bye stress! (App in the air is only available on IOS devices).
Want to be sure not to lose your loyalty points and track them all in the same place? Award Wallet will track and monitor your reward programs from different sources (hotels, credit cards, etc.) and notifies you when your points are about to expire. Award Wallet is currently tracking more than 119 billion points.
Flights & Airports
Google Flight not only searches the flights by comparing all the major airlines’ prices, but it also compares the prices by dates to find out immediately the cheapest dates to fly, finds alternative airports close to your destination airport, offers an “explore map” tool (to see in a glitch all the destinations on a map, together with their prices, at the given dates), and it also offers tips, guides, etc. A very useful all-in-one tool to select the best alternative.
Kayak is one of the most used flight comparator website. Comparing over millions of flights and airlines, which can be filtered by low prices first or shortest travel time first, Kayak also indicates you the price forecasts and whether it is a good time to buy. Kayak can also be used to find hotels, rentals cars and vacation packages.
Like Kayak, Hipmunk helps comparing hundreds of travel/airline sites and over 2 million of rental properties, to choose the best alternative in one-sight. Its display and interface make it a little bit more comfortable and user friendly to get all the information in a glitch.
If you know where you will be flying from, but looking for ideas of where to go next, this site is the reference we use. Enter a departure point/airport, and Flight Connections will show you all the possible routes and destinations. Ideal to find the best connections and alternatives flights.
One of our loved puzzle solving website. Just enter the departure and destination airports, AwardEx will compare for you the reward chart pricing, or simply put, will show you the available flights ranked by required loyalty rewards points (and even show you the corresponding taxes and fees). AwardEx currently supports around 25 booking programs, but there are more to come.
Another great tool and pretty like AwardEx, Award Maximizer will help you compare the loyalty programs benefit to maximize the value of the programs you are members of (including credşt cards and airlines’ programs).
This website is the easiest way to check where you can find the best reward program for every flight, by entering simple information. Through a mileage calculator, Where To Credit gives an indication of how much reward points you will get on your specified flight or which airline reward program to choose to get the most reward.
LoungeBuddy is one of the easiest yet very useful tool. Just add your trip and your loyalty programs membership, and LoungeBuddy will detect for you the available lounges at the airports, show you the ones you can access complimentary, and the conditions of access (if one or more guest I allowed, cost if not complimentary, etc)
Lodging & Vacation Rentals
Want to live like a local? With over 4 million listings and properties all around the world, Airbnb connects you to locals who are willing to rent their own spaces, from entire apartment to private room or shared room. A great alternative to hotel rooms, to spend time with your family altogether in the same place. You may even find some interesting experiences, like carriage houses, villas with swimming pool, designer lofts, and much more. Their “experience tool” will also help you find events at your destination place.
Tripping is a comparator website to help you find the best rental deals amongst top vacation rental sites – both hotels and locals’ properties (booking.com, TripAdvisor, VRBO, Home Away etc.). You search, compare, and choose the best rate for a given place. With 12 million properties in over 190 countries, Tripping is a good tool to find good deals.
Very close to the Airbnb concept, VRBO also lists the properties from the owners. With listings worldwide, VRBO offers the same flexibility. VRBO and HomeAway are part of the same group companies and offer similar services. We use these websites (AirBnb, VRBO, HomeAway) in combination to find more listings choices.
While Airbnb will list local’s own places, Booking.com is the place to find and compare hotels prices in a glitch. With almost 2 million of hotels listed, Booking.com will help you save time on your hotel search, aggregating all in one place, and often proposes good deals on the hotel prices. Another plus side? Additional discounts are offered on some rentals for travelers eligible to the Genius status.
Free rentals you said? Trusted House Sitters is a very interesting alternative to the paid rentals. If you are ready to offer services like house sitting or pet sitting, in exchange for a free place to stay, here is the go-to website. Enter your destination, check the available houses and the services requested in exchange, apply, and here you go!
Here is another very interesting alternative for free rentals. With Home Exchange and LoveHomeSwap, you can swap houses. List your house/apartment, enter your dates and destination, and you will find a list of all the travelers who are ready to exchange their home with you for the duration of your stay (and their stay), for free! Simultaneous exchanges are not always requested, making the process even easier.
If you are willing to use your awards points for a hotel stay, Hotel Hustle compares for you the hotels and corresponding rewards points & cash needed for your stay. Comparing 10 major hotel chains (Hilton Hhonors, Le Club Accor, etc.), you just need to enter your destination and your dates, and Hotel Hustle will indicate you, on a map, the available hotels and the award points needed.
Very similar to Hotel Hustle, Award Mapper compares the hotels award rate in a given destination. Award Mapper gathers for you the hotels of 9 major hotel chains, not all the same as Hotel Hustle (e.g., Starwood, Club Carlson, etc). Award Mapper and Hotel Hustle are therefore good to use in combination, depending on your memberships.

You can book the entire car, or ride in car pool (cheaper and friendly alternative).

Lyft and Uber are almost twins. Request a ride on the application, car pool or request the 6 seats car for your whole family, track the car, pay, repeat.
